Solar Energy Laboratory (LES): He is the Honorary Head and former Senior Director of the Solar Energy Laboratory at the University of Lomé.
UNESCO Chair: He serves as Honorary National Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair on Renewable Energies.
Doctoral Training: He led the doctoral programme in Materials Science at the University of Lomé.
CERME: In 2019, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Regional Centre of Excellence for Electricity Management.
International Scientific Committees: He serves as a member of the scientific committee of several regional organizations, including the Oyo Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency (CEO) in the Republic of Congo.
Prof. Kossi Napo is a distinguished Togolese scholar, full professor and one of West Africa’s leading experts in materials physics, solid-state physics and renewable energy.
He has devoted much of his academic career to the University of Lomé in Togo, where he has contributed to scientific research, higher education, academic supervision and the advancement of knowledge in the physical sciences. His expertise lies at the intersection of materials science, solid-state physics, energy systems and renewable energy technologies.
Through his scientific work and academic leadership, Prof. Napo has contributed to the development of African capacity in materials research, energy transition, applied physics and technological innovation. His profile is particularly relevant in a context where Africa must strengthen its scientific foundations, develop resilient energy systems and build sovereign technological capabilities.
